COSRX Skincare Review

COSRX Skincare

The products mentioned in this post were gifted by StyleKorean and COSRX in exchange for a review.

COSRX is a fantastic Korean skincare brand – I’ve tried quite a few of their products before and they consistently provide great results for my skin. I was super excited to try these COSRX classics as I hadn’t tried any of these before, despite many being cult favourites in the kbeauty community online.

I was gifted the Advanced Snail Mucin Gel Cleanser, Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream, AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner and Aloe Soothing Sun Cream. Here is what I thought of these COSRX products.

COSRX texture

COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin Gel Cleanser Review

A gentle gel cleanser which lathers into a foamy wash to clean skin without stripping it. With 1% snail secretion filtrate to hydrate and repair skin, the cleanser has a slightly slimy texture when you first apply it to skin, but it isn’t too noticeable. It has a noticeable fragrance, which I don’t mind, but can be a dealbreaker for some skincare users.

Overall, the Advanced Snail Mucin Gel Cleanser makes my skin clear and soft, without drying it out at all. I experienced no irritation while using it; it felt fine to use around my eyes and it didn’t cause any redness.

COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Review

The Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence contains 96% snail secretion filtrate, offering you all the benefits of snail mucin by hydrating skin, repairing damage, reducing redness and improving texture.

In addition to the snail mucin, the essence contains sodium hyaluronate, panthenol and allantoin, which are all used to enhance hydration and boost elasticity of skin, making this a fantastic essence for those seeking moisture and looking to reduce the signs of ageing.

Like most snail essence products, it has a viscous, slimy, sticky texture, but it does actually sink into my skin pretty fast. It’s nourishing enough that I have been using this as my moisturising stage in my routine before applying SPF.

COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream Review

With 5 types of peptides and snail secretion filtrate, this cream helps to nourish and moisturise the eye area, making the skin look more youthful. In addition, the Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream contains niacinamide to help brighten the eye area, reducing the appearance of dark circles.

It is a lightweight cream, more of a gel lotion texture, that sinks into the skin quickly. Something I like about this eye cream is the packaging – it’s a pump container that keeps the product away from air and direct contact with fingers, keeping it hygienic and lasting longer.

COSRX aha bha

COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner Review

The AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner contains 10% apple water, rich in natural AHA and BHA, to exfoliate skin, removing dead cells and excess oils. It helps to smooth skin and prevent breakouts from developing.

This toner comes in a spray bottle, so I can just spritz it over my face, offering a refreshing feeling for my skin.

When I use this, my skin gets very soft and smooth and gains a nice glow. It is absorbed quickly and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and less oily.

COSRX aloe sunscreen

COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream Review

The Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is SPF 50+ PA+++ and protects skin against both UVA and UVB rays with both chemical and physical sunscreen. With 5.5% aloe vera leaf extract, the sun cream also moisturisers and nourishes skin.

I’m loving this sun cream at the minute, it’s perfect for the summer months! It feels light on my skin, with no greasyness and no whitecast. It sinks in fast and I’m happy with the finish and protection it offers my skin.
