While my facial skin is oily, my lips are always very dry and I need to use a lot of lip products to keep them anywhere close to being soft. Over the years I’ve tried loads of lip balms, scrubs, oils and masks, and I’ve narrowed down a few of my favourites.
Frudia Blueberry Hydrating Honey Lip Balm
One of my favourite lip products, I use this hydrating lip balm every day.
Despite being a small jar, a little really goes a long way with this. The Frudia lip balm nourishes my lips well, healing dry and cracked skin. It adds a nice sheen to my lips.
When I use it at night I wake up with soft and healthy lips in the morning. The lip balm also has a slight plumping effect from collagen, which makes your lips appear smoother.
It’s really easy to apply and doesn’t feel sticky, making it great for using during the day too. This version is blueberry scented, with a lovely sweet scent.
A’pieu Honey & Milk Lip Oil
My lips get chapped easily, but this lip oil from A’pieu has helped a lot. It is super nourishing and leaves my lips glossy and smooth.
The honey and milk proteins in this oil form a moisture barrier on the lips that help to boost hydration and keep them soft and smooth. The texture is quite similar to honey and can be a bit sticky.
It can also be used in multiple ways; as a lip balm to moisturise, overnight as a lip treatment, or on top of a lip tint to add glossiness.
The applicator is a generous size and is curved to make it easier to fit the shape of lips.
COSRX Full Fit Propolis Lip Sleeping Mask
My favourite overnight lip product, the COSRX Full Fit Propolis Lip Sleeping Mask is full of propolis extract to nourish lips and repair lip skin. As well as using it overnight, it can be used throughout the day as a lip balm.
As a propolis product, it has a thicker, honey texture that really nourishes lips. While it isn’t too sticky, I personally prefer using this one at night, to avoid any tacky feeling during the day.
It’s really easy to apply, and a little goes a long way. The Propolis Lip Sleep Mask melts and absorbs into my lips very easily to nourish them.
I’ve tried lots of overnight lip masks over the years and this is the best for me as it lasts the whole night, ensuring that I wake up with properly hydrated, nourished and soft lips. It makes them so smooth, so I don’t have rough, cracked lips in the morning anymore.
Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm
This balm has 100s of possible uses, from lip balm to softening dry skin, shaping eyebrows or conditioning eyelashes. As the name also suggests, it can be used to soothe sore nipples! It is made from 100% Lanolin, so it isn’t suitable for vegans.
I use this purely as a lip balm, as it helps to hydrate, nourish and soothe my lips. It is good for getting them back to health when they get particularly cracked in the winter.
It’s really long lasting; when I apply it at night, my lips are still coated in the morning. During the day, it adds a nice lasting gloss to my lips.
Keys Soulcare Comforting Balm
While this is a multi-use balm, I primarily use this for treating chapped lips, although it can also be used to tackle dry skin patches, cracked skin or to keep eyebrow hairs in place.
It is made from camellia seed oil to brighten, rose of Jericho to hydrate, shea butter to improve the skin barrier and avocado oil to improve elasticity. The Keys comforting balm also has a gentle vanilla scent.
I like the jar as I can pop this in my bag and use it for whatever I need during the day.
Dr PawPaw Original Balm
The Dr PawPaw Original Balm is 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free. As the name suggests is full of pawpaw (papaya) fruit to help skin, as well as aloe vera and olive oil.
As a multi-purpose balm, this is not only a lip balm, but can be used as a primer, eyebrow smoother, eczema reliever, cut healer and hydrator for dry skin.
