Belif Skincare Review

Belif Skincare Review

Belif is a Korean skincare brand with products that make use of the ‘original formulas’ of Duncan Napier, a herbalist who created remedies in Edinburgh in 1860. Today, Napiers’ store still produces herbal remedies, and supplies Belif with ingredients that makes this skincare stand out.

Belif uses several of Napier’s formulas within their skincare range:

  • Napiers Original Formula: Oat Seed, Calendula, Catnip Flowering Tops, Raspberry, Wild Indigo, Chickweed.
  • Napiers Aqua Formula: Lady’s Mantle, Horsetail, Chickweed, Nettle, Plantain.
  • Napiers Moisture Formula: Lady’s Mantle, Heartsease, Rose, Marsh, Meadowsweet.
  • Napiers Dark Circle Formula: Eyebright, Greater Celandine, Tree Of Life, Comfrey, Chickweed.
  • Napiers Trouble Formula: Calendula, Burdock, Goldenseal, Purple Coneflower, Rosemary, Lavender.

Belif Aqua Bomb Hydrating Toner Review

A watery texture toner that instantly provides a boost of hydration.

Ingredients

  • Napiers Original Formula & Aqua Formula to moisturise, soothe and restore skin.
  • Honeysuckle to help soothe and calm the skin.
  • Baobab to lock in moisture, reduce redness and prevent water loss.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate to help keep skin hydrated.

There’s a little stickiness to this toner once, it’s on my skin, but it’s not a major issue. It makes my skin plumper and firmer from hydration after using. It has a natural citrus and rosemary scent.

Belif UV Protector Aqua Bomb Sun Serum Review

An SPF50+ PA++++ sun serum with moisturising, brightening and anti-wrinkle benefits.

Ingredients

  • Napiers Original Formula & Aqua Formula to moisturise, soothe and restore skin.
  • Noni Fruit Extract to provide antioxidant & skin-soothing properties.
  • Niacinamide to brighten skin and even skin tone.

It has a serum-like texture that leaves my skin feeling super smooth and hydrated. There’s no white cast and it feels very lightweight. It is a very nicely moisturising serum SPF, although I do sometimes find it a little too shiny looking for my oily skin.

Belif Super Knights Purifying Clay Mask Review

A creamy wash-off clay mask to gently clear pores and control sebum.

Ingredients

  • Napiers Original Formula.
  • Kaolin clay to absorb oil, remove dirt and gently exfoliate.
  • Sage to control sebum and reduce excess oil.
  • Silymarin to calm the skin and reduce oiliness.
  • Montmorillonite clay to clear out pores.

This is a really easy clay mask to apply – some can be difficult, but this has a really creamy texture that applies smoothly. It is comfortable to wear for the 10-15 minutes required, and has a slightly cooling feel.

It is fairly easy to wash off and it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, without feeling too stripped of moisture. My skin looks brighter and calmer after using it.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb Review

A gel-textured cream that cools and refreshes skin while hydrating.

Ingredients

  • Napiers Original Formula & Aqua Formula to moisturise, soothe and restore skin.
  • Lady’s Mantle to minimise appearance of pores and improve elasticity.
  • Ceramide to hydrate and protect skin barrier.
  • Squalane to lock in moisture and control oily skin.

It is a lightweight gel texture that instantly hydrates skin and gives a cooling feel to skin – this would be a lovely one for warmer months of the year when you need a refresh! It makes my skin look much smoother, almost blurring the appearance of my pores.

Belif The True Cream Moisturising Bomb Review

A nourishing cream to moisturise and hydrate.

Ingredients

  • Napiers Moisture Formula & Original Formula to moisturise and maintain water-oil balance.
  • Comfrey Leaf to detoxify skin, making it smooth, soft, and clear.

This is a much thicker cream than the Aqua Bomb, but it still works nicely on my skin as a night cream. It makes my skin feel super soft and plump, although it takes a little longer to sink into my skin.
