Versed Skincare Review

Versed Skincare Review

Versed Skincare is a vegan and cruelty free skincare brand. With products ranging from £9 to £20, they are a fairly affordable skincare brand.

Versed let me choose some of their products to try out in exchange for a review. They have so many great skincare products, so it was difficult to choose, but I selected five Versed products that I thought would work well for my skin and its current needs.

Versed Day Maker Microcrystal Exfoliating Cleanser

Versed Day Maker Microcrystal Exfoliating Cleanser

This exfoliating cleanser includes microcrystals and berry leaf extract to help improve skin texture, problem skin and dullness.

As a microcrystal exfoliator, it is a physical exfoliator, but it is pretty gentle, buffing off dead skin rather than being a rough scrub. Microcrystals are a biodegradable alternative to microbeads, which gently exfoliate and cleanse for brighter, smoother, and softer skin.

In addition to exfoliating skin, the berry leaf extract helps to regulate oil production, reduce inflammation and keep breakouts at bay.

It makes my skin soft, smooth and bright and is gentle enough to use without any sensitivity or redness.

versed baby cheeks toner

Versed Baby Cheeks Hydrating Milk Toner

I chose the Baby Cheeks All-in-One Hydrating Milk from Versed as I wanted a gentle, nourishing toner that could pack in hydration for my combination skin. A lot of the toners I have currently have AHA in to exfoliate, and I wanted something gentler that I could use morning and night, and around my eyes.

Baby Cheeks is a hydrating and conditioning toner, which can also be used to quickly cleanse skin and remove makeup. It is suitable for sensitive skin, and with a pH of 5-6 it helps to rebalance skin.

Skin is nourished and hydrated through the inclusion of coconut water, bamboo extract and algae extract.

It’s super gentle and safe to use around your eyes to remove makeup and makes my skin nice and plump and hydrated.

The bottle comes with a press down pump to deposit the toner directly onto a cotton pad. I’m not a fan of this design, as I like to load my skin with toner, or use my hands to pat it in, which is harder with the pump, but it’s not too much of a problem.

Versed Just Breathe Clarifying Serum

Versed Just Breathe Clarifying Serum

The Just Breathe Clarifying Serum is something of a lifesaver for me! If I don’t follow a strict skincare routine, my skin quickly becomes bumpy, spotty and red. However, sometimes I’m unable to do a full routine every day, and this can cause my skin problems.

Luckily, this serum is like a reset for my skin. When I use it in the evening, it makes my skin clear, soothed and on the mend by morning.

The Just Breath serum has some star ingredients to help it work so well. Willow bark extract, a natural alternative to salicylic acid, helps to exfoliate, calm inflammation, reduce excess oil and smooth skin. Likewise, niacinamide and zinc are anti-inflammatory, regulate sebum and oil production and promote healing of skin.

Versed Press Restart Retinol

Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Serum

As I’m now over 25, I want to start using retinol more frequently, so I chose the Press Restart Gentle Retinol to try.

I’ve used higher strength retinol before with no issue, but I wanted to go back to a more gentle formula that I can use more regularly.

The Press Restart serum contains bakuchiol and encapsulated retinol to help reduce the signs of ageing, brighten skin and improve problem skin. This serum has a light gel cream formula that sinks in quickly.

The results are instantaneous, immediately making my skin feel softer, smoother and plumped. I experience no redness, dryness or side effects from this serum. It gives me a healthy glow and even skin tone, without any shininess.

Versed Overnight Facial
Versed The Shortcut Overnight Facial

This has become a favourite in my nighttime routine, as it leaves my skin baby soft and glowing when I wake up in the morning.

The Overnight Facial is achieved with lactic and glycolic acid to exfoliate, which helps treat ageing skin and dullness.

As a facial peel it’s very gentle, and could be used night after night, as it doesn’t cause irritation, redness or dry out skin. As well as the active exfoliating ingredients, it has allantoin, rosehip and vitamin E to nourish and condition skin.
