People with oily and combination skin can find heavier cream moisturisers too thick for their skin type. If creams are too heavy, they may clog up your pores and cause more breakouts. However, it is still very important for oily skin types to lock in hydration – if you don’t moisturise, your skin will try to overcompensate and may end up oilier! The best solution is to use lightweight creams with a watery gel texture.
These are some of my favourite gel moisturisers for oily and combination skin.

Heimish Watermelon Moisture Soothing Gel Cream
A lot of moisturisers I try end up making my skin look too shiny, so I can only use them during my evening routine. But the Heimish Watermelon Moisture Soothing Gel Cream is ideal for use as a daytime cream in the summer.

The I’m From Vitamin Tree Water Gel is the perfect finishing touch for oily/combination skin, as the gel texture is light and sinks in nicely but still offers great hydration for glowing skin.
It contains 68% vitamin tree leaf water, Rose of Jericho to hydrate and prevent moisture loss and Snow Lotus to hydrate and soothe skin.
I love this gel – it instantly hydrates, plumps and brightens my skin without making me look greasy or overly shiny. Just a natural, healthy glow! It hydrates enough that it makes my skin look and feel smoother.
Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel
The Red Bean Water Gel is a light gel moisturiser ideal for oily skin types that aims to tackle excess sebum while providing moisture. It can be used morning and night.
The water gel contains 44% Haenam red bean extract which absorbs sebum, clears skin, and boosts elasticity. It also includes Peptide complex to boost collagen production to improve the appearance of wrinkles.
The gel has a very light texture that sinks in immediately. It’s not sticky, shiny, or greasy, but it makes my skin perfectly plumped and moisturised. It really is an ideal moisturiser for oily skin!
