Essano is a skincare brand based in New Zealand, where their products are also made. They are a cruelty-free brand that makes use of natural ingredients.
For the past few months, I have been using some of their products in my skincare routine. Here I share more about the products, and my thoughts on them after using.
Their Superfoods range makes use of organic, cold-pressed plant extracts that contain antioxidants that can help promote healthier skin. The key ingredients in this range are:
Detox: Cinnamon removes impurities, helping to detoxify and repair the skin. It is good for treating acne, spots and blemishes. Cinnamon products best for normal and combination skin.
Hydrate: Kale offers a great boost of hydration for your skin. It also helps your skin heal and promotes collagen production, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Kale Products are best for combination, dry or mature skin.
Energise: Turmeric energises the skin and gives a healthy glow. It also soothes skin and can reduce inflammation. Turmeric Products are best for normal and dry skin.
Essano Superfoods Cinnamon Purifying Gel Cleanser
As part of the cinnamon collection, the intention of this cleanser is to detoxify the skin. I’m always wary of trying new cleansers, as my skin is oily, and I can get breakouts if my cleanser doesn’t do a good enough job. There was no need to worry with this product, however, as it works wonderfully to clear my skin and make it feel well-balanced.
As well as cinnamon, this cleanser contains aloe vera and pumpkin seed extract.
- Cinnamon purifies and removes toxins
- Aloe Vera hydrates the skin
- Pumpkin promotes healthy skin renewal
In addition to how well this cleanser works, I also love how it looks, feels and smells. It is like a shimmery red goo, and it is very satisfying to see it squeeze out of the tube. The cinnamon scent is incredible, and reminds me of being in health food shops. It’s a lovely smell that seems refreshing in the morning, but also comforting in the evening.
A little goes a long way, so each tube of this cleanser is going to last a while.
Superfoods Certified Organic Kale Hydrating Daily Moisturiser
Kale isn’t really the sort of ingredient I had ever considered would be beneficial to my skin before – especially not in topical applications, at least! I see now how wrong I was, as this moisturiser has done wonders for my skin.
As well as kale, this moisturiser contains rocket, carrot and aloe vera, so it is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins A & E. These ingredients work together to boost hydration, collagen production and elasticity. After using this, my skin feels softer, smoother and more glowy!
Superfoods Certified Organic Kale Regenerating Night Creme
Who knew kale smelled so good?! As well as the fact this creme does WONDERS for my skin, I am absolutely obsessed with the scent – I love the smell of skincare that works!
Put this on before you go to sleep and you’ll wake up with super soft, hydrated skin that looks fresh and ready for the day.
It is similar to the day time moisturiser, in terms of it also containing carrot, rocket and aloe vera. However, this creme has a thicker texture, and for me works a lot better at rejuvenating my skin than the daily moisturiser.
Superfoods Certified Organic Turmeric Illuminating Facial Oil
A facial oil to be applied after cleansing but before using the moisturiser or night creme. The Turmeric Illuminating Oil is packed with turmeric to soothe the skin, as well as Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil to make skin soft, and blackcurrant to give a healthy glow.
Of the products within the Superfoods Feed Your Skin Trial Pack, this one was the least beneficial for me personally. However, this is due to my skin being oily, and not needing extra oil for a ‘glow’, rather than anything being wrong with the product.
If you’re on the lookout for natural, organic skincare products, then I would definitely recommend Essano. They have a pretty wide range of products to suit different skin types, so there is something for all. I found my Essano products in the UK in a T.K. Maxx store.
