When I first started getting into Korean skincare, I wanted to make sure that the products I purchased were right for my skin. My skin type is oily (sometimes combination) and I also have skin sensitivities. As it take a while for products to get sent to the UK, and I didn’t want to waste money on things that don’t work for me, I did a lot of research into the products that would work best for my skin.
After trying out a range of products, this is the morning routine I have settled on using Korean skincare products that are suitable for oily sensitive skin.
My aim for the morning routine is to hydrate and moisturise my skin, while helping to keep my skin clear and fresh all day.
Cleanser – Sioris Day By Day Cleansing Gel
I use the Sioris Day By Day Cleansing Gel in the morning as it is fairly gentle, refreshes my skin and removes the greasy feeling I have when I wake up, without making my skin feel tight and stripped of moisture. My skin feels very soft after using this cleanser and it leaves it as the perfect base for the rest of my skincare routine.
Essence – I’m From Fig Boosting Essence
My next step is to use the I’m From Fig Boosting Essence. It both exfoliates and hydrates the skin. The essence is so light, so I use this first after cleansing. It sinks into the skin very quickly and preps it for the following steps.
Ampoule – Skin 1004 Centella Ampoule
Next I use the Skin 1004 Centella Ampoule. This ampoule is soothing, moisturising and helps to strengthen the skin barrier. It makes my skin look and feel healthier.
Serum – iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum
If I have breakouts or redness on my skin, then I use the iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Serum in the problem areas. I don’t usually use this over my whole face, but rather as a targeted serum on the parts of my skin that need it. Tea tree has always been a great ingredient for me!
Serum – Frudia Green Grape Pore Control Serum
As I have oily skin, my face tends to get oilier as the day goes on. To keep it from looking greasy, and to keep my oiliness under control I use the Frudia Green Grape Pore Control Serum. This gives my skin a slight matte feel and makes it easier for me to do my makeup. It keeps my skin smooth and oil-free for longer.
Eye Cream – Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream
I use the Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream in both my morning and evening routine, as it is the best eye cream I have found for reducing my dark circles. It is a fairly thick cream, but it sinks in quickly and nourishes the skin around my eyes.
Moisturiser – Dr Jart+ Tea Treement
Oily skin types need to use a moisturiser that isn’t too heavy for their skin. I use the Dr Jart+ Tea Treement, which is a gel-like pH balancing moisturiser that has the bonus of containing tea tree leaf extract.
SPF – BlackRouge Cica Green Sun Cream
I finish my routine with the BlackRouge Cica Green Sun Cream. It is SPF 50+ PA ++++, so provides my skin with great protection from the sun. It is light enough to work well on my skin without making it greasy. You can see a full review of this product on my blog:
