Peach and Lily Peach Slices Snail Rescue Review

*Peach and Lily reached out to me to try their Peach Slices Snail Rescue collection and kindly gifted me the products mentioned in this blog.

I was given the blemish busting toner, all-in-one oil free moisturiser and intensive wash-off mask from the Snail Rescue collection, which all include 95% snail mucin concentrate.

What is Snail Mucin?

Snail mucin is a natural substance that is excreted from snails as they move about. It is a popular skincare ingredient in Korea due to its moisturising and healing effects.

Cruelty-free Snail Mucin

I kind of love snails, so I’ve always been reluctant to use products that contain snail mucin due to the worries that snails were harmed during the collection process.

Some snail mucin is collected in ways that are cruel, but one of the things that attracted me to the Peach and Lily products is the fact that they are confirmed cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny-certified!

When Peach and Lily reached out to me, I made sure that the mucin was ethically sourced.

Their mucin comes from the snails on the island of Jeju in Korea, where the snails are placed on mesh and allowed to roam about, leaving their trail behind!

This is collected, purified and filtered before being added to the skincare products. The Peach Slices Snail Rescue products each contain 95% snail mucin.

The Snail Rescue Products

I was sent three products to try from the snail rescue range. All three contain 95% snail mucin, as well as hyaluronic acid and centella asiatica extract.

They each aim to hydrate, gently exfoliate and fight blemishes. They are suitable for all skin types, but are particularly great for those with oily, combination and acne-prone skin.

Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner

Blemish busting toner really is the right way to describe this product! Since using it, I haven’t had one breakout or blemish in weeks, which is unheard of! My skin is the clearest it has been in a long time, so I’m planning to continue using this product in my routine.

The toner is incredibly gentle and absorbs very quickly. It’s certainly gentle enough to use around the eyes, and it does a fairly decent job of removing make-up residue.

Snail Rescue All-In-One Oil Free Moisturizer

The moisturiser was my favourite product. It is a light, fairly watery formula that sinks in quickly, without any stickiness or shine. It’s the dream texture for my oily skin, as it doesn’t sit heavy at all.

My skin feels well moisturised and hydrated after using, and looks a lot clearer, both in terms of blemish and tone. My face also feels super soft and smooth, with a definite improvement in firmness and elasticity.

Snail Rescue Intensive Wash-Off Mask

The wash off mask is great for using a couple times a week to really clear and refresh the skin.

I’d recommend getting hold of a face mask spatula for this one, as the jelly texture isn’t the easiest to apply with hands. You’ll also probably want a cloth or towel to help you remove it afterwards for the same reason!

It’s a comfortable and refreshing mask to wear. It leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth afterwards. This is definitely one I’ll be reaching for when I get a breakout! It’s nice to find a mask that clears your skin without being too drying or leaving you looking shiny. Another benefit of this mask is how calming it is; after using, my skin is way less red.

I’ve genuinely loved using all three of these products! If you want to try these out yourself, then head over to Peach and Lily!
