Previously I have tried out a few products from the Haruharu Wonder range, including a cleansing oil and essence, so I was excited for the opportunity to try out more skincare from this collection.
I was sent the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Cleansing Gel, Hyaluronic Toner and Serum, as well as the very special haruharu x PHANTACi Set to try out. These came with a special haruharu tote bag, which I’m loving using too!
The products in the Haruharu Wonder range contain black rice extract from fermented Korean-grown black rice. Black rice contains 30 times higher levels of antioxidants compared to white rice, so can offer greater skincare benefits.
After trying all of these out for a few weeks, here’s what I think of each product.
Haruharu WONDER Black Rice Moisture 5.5 Soft Cleansing Gel
This gel cleanser lathers into a fine foam consistency that is gentle and moisturising. It is slightly acidic, and contains coconut-derived surfactants, which help to gently cleanse dead skin cells, impurities and dirt from skin. The fermented black rice extract helps keep skin hydrated and plump, while additional bamboo extract offers skin soothing and tone evening benefits.
The cleanser is non-drying, so your skin won’t feel tight after using. It felt very gentle to use and didn’t cause me any irritation.
Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner Free of Alcohol & Fragrance
Perfect for sensitive skin, this version of the Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner is free from alcohol, fragrance, and essential oil, but provides the same effectiveness as the original version.
It is an enriched essence style toner, that provides wonderful moisturisation, supported by 95% naturally-derived ingredients, including black rice extract, hyaluronic acid and beta-glucan.
I previously tried a tester version of the original version, and I find the new version more pleasant as it is unscented, and manages to hydrate my skin well without needing any of those potentially irritating ingredients.
Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Serum
The serum is a light gel consistency that quickly absorbs into skin to improve elasticity and provide long-lasting moisture. The serum contains fermented black rice extract, which is rich in antioxidants and aids skin elasticity. It also contains hyaluronic acid to moisturise, plus aloe leaf extract to soothe and heal skin.
It is very light in texture for a serum, so I think this would be a really good one for me to use in the summer.
Haruharu X PHANTACi Set
I was super excited to receive this special set. The set was created in collaboration with the street fashion label PHANTACi, and features a case filled with five Haruharu skincare products, which all feature oil painting designs from Jay Chou on the packaging.
In the set are:

It’s a beautiful set that is perfect for travelling, and I have already taken this with me on a weekend away. The products are all you really need to keep your skin happy and healthy while on a getaway. I loved trying out the Hyaluronic Cream as part of this set, as it was very nourishing without being greasy or oily. The Bamboo Mist was also very refreshing, and I will enjoy carrying this with me in the summer months.
Once the products are empty I will try to reuse the bottles as they are so pretty, and I will definitely be using the case when travelling or to store delicate items.
