Estee Lauder Spring 2019 Gift Review

Estee Lauder Spring 2019 Gift Review

Every now and then, premium brands such as Estee Lauder release a special gift that comes free with an order when a certain amount or type of products are ordered. This spring, Estee Lauder released their Spring 2019 Gift at Boots, coming free when 2 Estee Lauder products are purchased. Estee Lauder Double Wear is my foundation of choice, and I needed a new bottle anyway, so I took the opportunity to try out some new products. I also bought the Double Wear Foundation Powder. I have been looking out for a decent powder foundation for a while, as I often can’t be bothered with the faff of blending in liquid foundation on a daily basis!

The Estee Lauder Spring 2019 Gift includes Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam, NightWear Plus 3-Minute Detox Mask, DayWear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant 24H-Moisture Creme, Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix, Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II, Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick and Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara.

Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam

A refreshing cleanser that works to clear skin and remove makeup, Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam is good for making your face soft and clean. It is gentle and weightless, producing a light foam that easily washes away. The cleansing foam really helps to clear my skin, leaving it smooth and blemish free, and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. However, if you’re looking for a cleanser that actually works to remove makeup, then I’d look elsewhere. While my skin was fairly clear after using this product, it says not for use around the eye area, and this is where I would require a makeup removing cleanser more than other areas of my face. As a standard cleanser, it is decent though, and at 30ml, it is a good size tester for this free gift.

NightWear Plus 3-Minute Detox Mask

This is one of my favourite products in this set, as I love a good face mask, but often can’t be bothered, or don’t have the time for one that takes 10-20 minutes; so a 3-minute mask is ideal for me. It also seems to actually do something for my skin, even after only three minutes, which I can’t say for most of the other face masks I have used. The mask dries very quickly once applied, and only a small amount is needed to get a full coverage. When it comes to washing the mask off, it is very easy, unlike some face masks, like clay ones, which typically take a lot of rinsing to remove. After using the mask, my skin feels smooth and toned, but not too dry.

DayWear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant 24H-Moisture Creme

A refreshing moisturiser for dry or combination skin, this cream is perfect for morning and evening use and can be used underneath makeup. The moisturiser sinks into skin quickly, so I don’t need to wait before being able to do makeup or other skincare bits. With SPF 15, this cream is also great as sun protection, which is something I require from my skin creams as I tan very easily and don’t want my skin to get too sun damaged.

Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix

I’ve always felt like eye creams are something of a con, as none of them appear to do anything! I haven’t really used this for long enough to see any change in my panda eyes, but I’m pretty sure it has actually helped to reduce some puffiness and keep my eye area moisturised without leaving a greasy residue. The applicator is a little ball massager, which is useful for gently rubbing in the product without having to get my fingers too close to my eyes. I’m not sure I’m anywhere near rich enough to be buying the full-sized version of this, but if I was, I may consider integrating it into my daily skincare regime.

Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II

I’m really into skin serums at the minute, so it was exciting to be able to try the Advanced Night Repair serum. The Estee Lauder site states that the serum works out at £18 per 10ml, so this 7ml tester isn’t exactly cheap! It really helps to make my skin less dry and gives it a clear and healthy glowing complexion. Plus, a little goes a long way with this serum, with only a small amount needed for a full coverage.

Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in shade Dynamic

I’m normally a fan of matte lipsticks, so it is nice to be able to add a creamy lipstick to my (extensive) collection. The lipstick goes on very smoothly and is a lovely dark pink colour that I would have likely chosen myself if selecting one of these lipsticks in store. It’s definitely not the best lipstick I have used in terms of how long it lasts, but that is somewhat to be expected considering it is not a matte lipstick.

Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara

While not the most volumizing mascara in my collection, the Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara certainly has one thing going for it, and that is its ability to create fanned out lashes that are brilliantly clump-free. It lasts well throughout the day and doesn’t flake like some mascaras do, making it a great day-to-day choice, although I would likely choose something different for a bolder night-out eye look.
