The products mentioned in this post were gifted by StyleKorean and Beauty of Joseon in exchange for a review.
This Beauty of Joseon range aims to treat hyperpigmentation, with each of the products containing rice-based ingredients to clarify and nourish skin. I have found some new favourites in these products and thoroughly enjoyed trying them – here I share my experience.
Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm
The Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm is a cleansing balm that gently melts away makeup, excess oils and dirt.
It is made with rice water and fermented grains, which help to brighten skin and help skin to retain moisture. The balm also contains rice bran oil, rice extract and oatmeal extract to help soothe and protect skin.
The Radiance Cleansing Balm has a wonderful texture. I don’t really like cleansing balms, but this is one of the better balm cleansers I’ve tried. It causes me to have a bit of film on my eyes for a bit after using it, but it doesn’t make my eyes too irritated like many do.
Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum
The Glow Deep serum is used to brighten skin and enhance its glow. It hydrates the skin and helps to fade hyperpigmentation. The serum is lightweight with a watery serum texture that is quick to absorb into skin.
Containing 68.9% Rice Bran Water, the serum helps to clarify skin, while nourishing and hydrating it. The 2% Alpha-Arbutin also helps reduce hyperpigmentation on skin and suppresses melanin formation to keep skin clear and bright.
I’ve been using an alpha-arbutin serum from The Ordinary for a few years, but this one is even better in my opinion, as it contains rice bran water too, which really helps to add extra hydration to my skin. It sinks in well and leaves my skin looking super glowy in an instant.
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Cream
The Relief Sun Cream is definitely a contender for my favourite sun cream! Finding SPF that works for my oily skin is a challenge, but this Relief Sun cream is pretty near perfect for me.
It is a chemical sunscreen with SPF50+ PA++++. The SPF level has been independently tested by different labs to ensure that it does protect to a level of 50+. The sun cream also contains 30% rice extract to moisturise and nourish skin, as well as probiotics to nourish and strengthen skin.
It feels more like a light moisturiser than a sun cream, so it sinks in really quickly and doesn’t make my skin look greasy or shiny. In addition, it doesn’t leave any whitecast, nor does it feel sticky on my skin. Another benefit is that it doesn’t smell like most sun cream does, it’s more of a neutral scent. Plus, It makes my skin feel silky and nourished. I couldn’t ask for more!
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed trying out these Beauty of Joseon products. My favourite is by far the sun cream. I’m definitely going to continue using this every day and will consider repurchasing it when I run out.
